  blueheart.gif One of the few jazz clubs to admit minors. Opened in 1964 with Latin Jazz of Eddie Cano and pianist Hampton Hawes and closed in 1973.

   Smokey Robinson, the Miracles, Otis Redding, Buddy Rich, the Jefferson Airplane sat in with Dizzy Gillespie, and Ike and Tina Turner recorded an album here. Lenny Bruce filmed a documentary of his act here which is the only visual recording of his night club work.
I saw Marty Balin the first time I went here. Tiny Tim performed at Basin Street West in 1972. What a trippy night that was:-)
