Light
show artist Bill Ham managed these apartments and filled them with
a wild assortment of tenants. Artists and Musicians filled the place.
Ham perfected his light shows in the basement and then shared them
with us all at the Avalon Ballroom. His light shows were the
very best.
The Charlatans lived here as well as some
of the member of Big Brother and the Holding Company. This is also
the first place Janis Joplin lived when she joined up with Big Brother.
